PROJECTS: CIVIC + URBAN PROJECTS: Park East Park

The design for this park includes a new play area, updated shade structure, bike path, basketball court and new shade and evergreen trees. The play surfaces vary in material but allow for a seamless flow into each space. The park pivots around the central large willow tree. The play surface colors were chosen for heat reducing factors while providing a soft landing and adequate drainage. The play areas were designed to fit into the existing trees. The pattern of the play area surface is intended to evoke the sense of water and vegetation tying into the adjacent stream.
