PROJECTS: RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS: Lakeside Residence
Terraced walls of native stone create a garden path that gently leads to the lower pool area and lake. The clean form of the pool and rhythmic arrangement of the water features gesture towards the lake. Three water scuppers accomplish the effect of cascading water and create a tempo that leads to the main view of the lake. Various arrangements of local stone was used to form a comfortable walkway from the upper terraces of the home to the lower spaces. A canyon feel ( a desire from the homeowners who are avid kayakers) was created from the water scuppers which captures both motion and light and becomes a lively sculptural feature. A simple path of stone pavers in the rear lawn becomes the culmination of the circulation and quietly extends the architecture outwards.
