PROJECTS: RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS: Park Hill Garden
The new house addition is narrow in width allowing an instant indoor and outdoor connection to both the side garden and rear courtyard. The new house addition connects the old house with the detached garage. The courtyard is arranged for outdoor dining and entertaining opportunities. This garden is planted with kitchen herbs and provides space for outdoor grilling. Salvaged materials were re-used in the courtyard. Red sandstone and the original brick marry the original house with the new garden addition. A custom wood door creates a focal point and a visual portal on the north end of the courtyard. Indoor and Outdoor spaces are unified with sandstone paving , the wooden trellis and fencing. The bedroom balcony overlooks the courtyard. Large french doors open from the main living area and kitchen into the courtyard. Plantings soften the new driveway entrance while providing a sense of privacy to the side yard garden. The main side-entry to the new addition is an interplay of sandstone, airy plantings, and colorful pots used to create a cottage garden feel.
